In this episode of The Threshing Floor our hosts talked about why they love Advent and what it was like journeying towards celebrating Advent. All three of our hosts grew up in a non-liturgical traditions, so Advent is a recent holiday for them. Chad interviews JD Walt, sower in chief of Seedbed.com about the new relationship between The Threshing Floor and Seedbed. As always, there is some great off topic banter. Our closing song is from The Opiate Mass's record "From the Belly of a Woman". It is their rendition of the classic advent song "For Unto Us a Child is Born". You can get their music from the usual places and The Threshing Floor is a big fan of The Opiate Mass. |

In the 6th episode of The Threshing Floor our hosts close out the season with two conversations. The first focuses on the development of the 4th season of "The Walking Dead" and how the zombie apocalypse really defines what it means to be human. The second conversation focuses on why Joshua is a cheater. Actually, it is a discussion on the "desert island" book each host would take with him. At the end of the episode we make a very special announcement regarding the 2nd and any future season of The Threshing Floor! |

As the three hosts journey off into somewhat charted waters, they discuss a plethora of topics. These include World War Z, childhood television shows and weight loss. This is also the first episode failing to mention Willie Nelson, quite the feat! The serious side of things focuses on spiritual practices, the things we do to stay close to God. The spiritual life is the intentional life. |

The Magnificent Three take on several somewhat related topics, and unlike another ill fated episode 1 ours doesn’t involve Jar Jar! The focus of the conversation is the tornado is Moore, OK earlier this week and John Piper’s subsequent comment. You can read the exact information and Piper’s response here. We talk about theological determinism, a particular persuasion some Christians hold. The larger conversation centers on a discussion of God choosing (or not choosing) to cause pain.
You can also expect several alternate topics like Online Dating and the benefits of a personal theme song.
All in just 45 minutes!
